My warm friend
lives far away and up high
that somewhere is up
in that beautiful blue sky
My warm friend
she comes to my window
without her dark shadow
in the early morn
when I no longer forlorn
My warm friend
Arrives to light the way
to offer hope for a brand new day
My warm friend
Her omnipresence
during her light of day
warms hearts and souls
offering hope for lofty goals
My warm friend
At end of all days
It’s time to fly she says
(Cos she lives so far away)
It’s time to say bye-bye
that’s why I sadly sigh
when she says this
cos her warmth I’ll miss
My warm friend
She slowly disappears away
until she no longer lights my day
In her absence - darkness beckons
I know she’s gone to say
Good morning to other friends
after setting in distant horizon
My warm friend
I know she’ll return tomorrow
(so I needn’t feel deep sorrow)
to again light up my day
and show the way
and warm my heart and body
and offer hope for a brand new day
